XF® glass synergists are inorganic additives designed to enhance the performance of flame retardant systems. They react with other components present in the resin system to form a ceramic material with high fire resistance. These glass-based materials can be used as a partial replacement for conventional flame retardants and are effective in combination with halogen and non-halogen flame retardant systems to increase charring strength, preserve swelling and reduce flame spread. AGT, Advanced Glass Technologies, The XF® Series should be considered whenever an upgrade of fire retardant systems is required for wire and cable, flooring, wall and textile coatings, composites, clear systems (including gelcoats) and paints.
