Today, most of the laminated glass in the automotive industry is used for car windshields. There is a tendency to use small sized laminated glass as rear glass, thereby achieving a high standard of finish. Traditionally, laminated glass was made by gravity bending and ceramic paint was applied to the 4th surface (center on the inside of the glass). However, there is a clear trend for windshields to be made using pressure bending in molds to achieve the desired complex surface curvature, and ceramic paint is applied to the face (center of the outer pane).
